God is like mother. Assume a function at house & mother is the only one for all arrangements, her kid of just 7 years comes and says...mother I would help you in all your work. No matter what work that small kid can do but when some guest arrives & says everything is been arranged so perfectly, loving mother would say it is only because of my kid who helped me in work. Even if the kid hardly did anything but mother wont mind giving all the credit to her little one......God is like mother, he wont see what we did for him, small or big but only if we try to do something for him he would give us all the credit in life.
Sameway God is father. Assume a father with his own money gets sweets for his kid & the kid offers the same sweet to his father saying, father you eat first. Father bought from his money & do not desire to eat but still his heart would get filled that my kid cares so much, God is the one who gave us everything, everything belongs to him directly & indirectly but if we offer him with love his heart gets filled, he do not desire to eat but desire love from us in what ever way we could.

Masik Shivaratri 2014 Shivaratri is great festival of convergence of Shiva and Shakti. Each month, Chaturdashi Tithi during Krishna Paksha is known as Masik Shivaratri. Masik Shivaratri in month of Magha is known as Maha Shivaratri according to Amavasyant School. However according to Purnimant School Masik Shivaratri in month of Phalguna is known as Maha Shivaratri. In both schools it is naming convention of lunar month which differs. However both, Purnimant and Amavasyant Schools, celebrate all Shivaratris including Maha Shivaratri on same day. According to Indian Mythology, in the midnight of Maha Shivaratri, Lord Shiva was appeared in form of Linga. Shiva Linga was first worshipped by Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma. I PRESENT YOU THE HOLI FESTIVAL DETAILS AND ITS REASON OF CELEBRATION. AND FOR THE FIRST TIME I PRESENT YOU THE SNAPS OF MY FAMILY CELEBRATING HOLI...THE FESTIVAL OF COLOURS..... I HOPE YOU ALL WILL LIKE IT....
Holi is a religious festival celebrated by Hindus all over the world. Holi is considered as second biggest festival on Hindu calendar after Diwali. Holi is also known as festival of Colors. Places related to life of Lord Krishna are known as Braj regions. Holi rituals in Braj regions - Mathura, Vrindavan, Gowardhan, Gokul, Nandagaon and Barsana - are the most famous one. The Lathmar Holi – the traditional Holi festivity in Barsana is world famous. In most regions Holi festival is celebrated for two days. The first day is known as Jalanewali Holi - the day when Holi bonfire is done. This day is also known as Chhoti Holi and Holika Dahan. Holika Dahan is referred to Kama Dahanam in South India. The second day is known as Rangwali Holi - the day when people play with colored powder and colored water. Rangwali Holi which is main Holi day is also known as Dhulandi or Dhulendi. The other less popular pronunciations of Dhulandi are Dhuleti, Dhulheti. On first day bonfires are lit after sunset at Right Holika Dahan Muhurta. Main Holi day when people play with colors is always next day of Holika Dahan or Holi bonfire. Next day in the morning people play Holi with dry and wet colors. People are more willing and comfortable to play Holi with dry colored powders which are known as Gulal. However many people feel that Holi celebrations are incomplete without wet colors. Wet color is applied on the face and is made on the spot by mixing little amount of water with dry colored powder. More enthusiastic Holi folk mix dry colored powder in full bucket of water to drench complete body in wet color. ENJOY ALL AND ONCE AGAIN HAPPY HOLI......................
HAPPY HOLY TO ALL THE READERS.... AS HOLY IS CELEBRATED WITH GREAT FUN AND PLEASURE IN INDIA BUT NOW ITS GONE INTERNATIONAL. I AM GOING TO TELL U ALL THE STORY BEHIND THE HOLIKA DAHAN ONE DAY BEFORE HOLY............................ HAVE A LOOK,AND READ.....
The Legend of Holika and Prahlad The Legend of Holika and PrahladThe Legend There was once a demon king by the name of Hiranyakashyap who won over the kingdom of earth. He was so egoistic that he commanded everybody in his kingdom to worship only him. But to his great disappointment, his son, Prahlad became an ardent devotee of Lord Naarayana and refused to worship his father. Hiranyakashyap tried several ways to kill his son Prahlad but Lord Vishnu saved him every time. Finally, he asked his sister, Holika to enter a blazing fire with Prahlad in her lap. For, Hiranyakashyap knew that Holika had a boon, whereby, she could enter the fire unscathed. Treacherously, Holika coaxed young Prahlad to sit in her lap and she herself took her seat in a blazing fire. The legend has it that Holika had to pay the price of her sinister desire by her life. Holika was not aware that the boon worked only when she entered the fire alone. Prahlad, who kept chanting the name of Lord Naarayana all this while, came out unharmed, as the lord blessed him for his extreme devotion. Thus, Holi derives its name from Holika. And, is celebrated as a festival of victory of good over evil. Holi is also celebrated as the triumph of a devotee. As the legend depicts that anybody, howsoever strong, cannot harm a true devotee. And, those who dare torture a true devotee of god shall be reduced to ashes.
Celebration of the Legend Even today, people enact the scene of 'Holika's burning to ashes' every year to mark the victory of good over evil. In several states of India, specially in the north, effigies of Holika are burnt in the huge bonfires that are lit. There is even a practice of hurling cow dungs into the fire and shouting obscenities at it as if at Holika. Then everywhere one hears shouts of 'Holi-hai! Holi-hai!'. The tradition of burning 'Holika' is religiously followed in Gujarat and Orissa also. Here, people render their gratitude to Agni, the god of fire by offering gram and stalks from the harvest with all humility. Further, on the last day of Holi, people take a little fire from the bonfire to their homes. It is believed that by following this custom their homes will be rendered pure and their bodies will be free from disease. At several places there is also a tradition of cleaning homes, removing all dirty articles from around the house and burning them. Disease-breeding bacteria are thereby destroyed and the sanitary condition of the locality is improved.
Ramcharitmansa is composed in seven chapters or kaandas. A brief description of each chapter is given below. Baalakaanda The Chapter of the Childhood: 361 dohas This is the first and the longest of the seven chapters of Ramacharitamanas. It begins with extensive invocations to various gods and goddesses. Events leading to the descent of the incarnation of Rama are described. These include, among other tales, the story of Shiva and Parvati. The chapter then describes the birth of Rama in Ayodhya, his childhood, the protection of the sage Vishwamitra’s yajna, entry into Janakpur, breaking of Lord Shiva’s bow, marriage to Sita and return to Ayodhya. Ayodhyakaanda The Chapter of Ayodhya: 326 dohas The second chapter of Ramacharitamanas begins with the preparations for Rama’s coronation in Ayodhya. Other events described in this chapter are the exile of Rama, Dasharatha’s death, Rama’s encounter with Nishaada and the Kevata (boatman), the return of Bharata to Ayodhya and his anger at his mother’s scheming, the meeting of Bharata and Rama in the forest and the installation of Rama’s padukas (sandals) on the throne of Ayodhya with Bharata as regent. Aranyakaanda The Chapter of the Forest: 46 dohas This brief but eventful chapter describes Rama’s life in the forest with Sita and Lakshmana, and his meeting with various sages (Atri, Anasuya, Agastya) who dwell there. The meeting with Shurpanakha, Ravana’s sister and her humiliation, battle with the demons Khara and Dushana, Ravana’s scheme for revenge -- Marichi’s impersonation of a golden deer and the abduction of Sita -- and Rama’s grief and the beginning of the search for Sita are some other episodes of this chapter. Kishkindhakaanda The Chapter of Kishkindha: 30 dohas This is the shortest chapter of Ramacharitamanas. It shows the meeting of Hanumana and Rama, Rama’s friendship with Sugreeva, the slaying of Vali and the beginning of the search for Sita by Sugreeva’s army. Sundarkaanda The Chapter of Beauty: 60 dohas This is the fifth chapter of Ramacharitamanas and is considered by many to be the heart of the whole text. It describes the exploits of Hanumana: his crossing over the ocean, entry into Lanka, his meeting with Vibhishana, his discovery of, and meeting with, Sita and his burning of Lanka. Other episodes described in this chapter are the defection of Vibhishana, the exchange of messages between Rama and Ravana and Rama’s taming of the ocean. Lankakaanda The Chapter of Lanka: 121 dohas This chapter describes the whole period of Rama’s stay in Lanka, the island kingdom of Ravana. The episodes include the building of a bridge on the ocean and crossing over into Lanka and Angada’s fruitless peace mission to Ravana. Then follows the battle with the fall of various heroes, Lakshmana’s injury and recovery and finally the slaying of Ravana. The battle is followed by the crowning of Vibhishana as king of Lanka, the return of Sita and the journey back to Ayodhya. Uttarkaanda The Chapter of Later Events or Epilogue: 130 dohas This is the seventh and final chapter of Ramacharitamanas, which talks of events occurring after the battle of Lanka. Major events are the end of Rama’s exile and his return to Ayodhya, crowning of Rama as king of Ayodhya and the description of his exemplary governance (Ramarajya). This is followed by details of the departure of the incarnation of Lord Rama, the dialogue between Garuda and Kakbhushundi and the closing invocation of the text.
